🏅The House Settlement, explained.

It's been approved. Now what?

Hey there,

By now you’ve probably heard: The House Settlement deal, which we’ve been covering for over a year here at NIL Wire, has finally been approved. Today we’re going through the ins and outs of the deal, breaking down the complicated legal-speak into, well, English. This is not one you’re going to want to miss.

Now I know we promised you guys a story about Notre Dame last edition, and you’ll get that eventually. But, of course, there are now bigger fish to fry, and we think it’s more important to talk through some of this stuff before getting to that story. Hopefully our Fightin’ Irish fans will understand.

We’re super happy to offer this story to our All-Access subscribers. Not a part of the team yet? Don’t worry, you can join easily – just click here to see the pricing options. You won’t regret this one, trust me.

Oh boy. I remember over a year ago when murmurs began that the NCAA was looking to settle the House lawsuit out of court – they were staring down an insanely expensive case that they felt they may lose, and the future of college sports itself seemed in complete flux. Over the course of the year, those fears haven’t exactly subsided… but the House Settlement has officially arrived.

There’s a ton that goes into this settlement – way too much for us to cover in one piece. I’m sure we’ll be hitting plenty more angles on this in the weeks to come, but we wanted to catch everyone up on the basics of exactly what this settlement is, and how it will affect college sports in the past, present, and future. Sound good? Good. Let’s dive into it.
