🏅CFB Commish Prospects: Tim Tebow

Could the Gators legend lead college football's next era?

Hey there,

Today we’re following up that very heady series on the SCORE Act with a little bit of fun. Imagine with me for a moment… who’s the brightest star in college football since the year 2000?

If you answered Tim Tebow, we agree. But could the former Gator legend actually lead college football into the next era? That’s what we’re looking at today.

Welcome back, folks. If you’ve been keeping up with our ongoing series on college sports commissioners, you know we’ve already looked at some excellent candidates for the job – Nick Saban, Tommy Tuberville, Jim Boeheim, and Barack Obama have all been discussed. We’ve explored why college football might need a commissioner in the first place, and we’ve begun vetting possible candidates like political operatives running for office.

Something’s different now, though. In case you missed it, college sports actually has a commissioner now, sort of. His name is Bryan Seeley, and while he’s not a commissioner in the traditional sense, he’s about as close as we’ll see with how modern college sports is shaping up.

This series has been about, and continues to be about, a position slightly different than Seeley’s though. We’re looking more for a supreme leader – someone who combines the roles of NCAA president and CSC commissioner into one, which is why we wanted to give you one more candidate for the job.

After this, we’ll probably talk about Seeley himself a bit more and evaluate him in the same way we’re evaluating these other candidates. But for now, we have one more candidate to vet, and it’s one I’ve been waiting to unveil for a long, long time.

Tim Tebow.

Yes, that Tim Tebow, the Heisman-winning, two-time national champion quarterback-turned-NFL-starter-turned-baseball-player-turned-football-analyst. Today we’re looking at how he would fare as supreme commissioner over all things college sports. Could he the next great hope for saving college football from its own chaos?

Let’s find out.
